SY - POZZI SIGNATURE

This SY was crafted for Pozzi, of the duo Mojave Grey, at the Pont-Sainte-Maxence atelier. He wanted a guitar cut from the black of the Paris rock wardrobe. Black lacquered top, hand-chased aluminium pickguard, star inlays along the neck, his name in the first. It has followed him since, all the way to Coachella.

BUILT FOR ROCK

Its short scale eases string tension: the vibration widens, the note thickens and holds deep into saturation. A double-cutaway silhouette, sculpted for balance and playing comfort, in an instrument of around 3.5 kg.

THE PICKUPS

Two hand-wound Dreamsongs humbuckers. At the neck, the Classic 59 delivers a vintage voice, warm and rounded. At the bridge, the custom De Leeuw PAF brings a clear attack and plenty of bite. Under the short scale, both voices thicken.

CHASED ALUMINIUM

Top and headstock lacquered black. Against this ground, the pickguard is cut from aluminium, hand-chased, then lacquered black in turn, the metal legible beneath the lacquer. Along the neck, the inlays are stars of the same aluminium, cut and chased one by one. In the first, Pozzi's name.

THE NECK HEEL

The sculpted heel of our neck-through builds gives full access to the upper frets and a rare playing comfort. It is one of the signatures of Quentin De Leeuw, Maître Artisan d'Art (master craftsman of the French métiers d'art).

COMMISSIONING A DE LEEUW

Commissioning a De Leeuw instrument means entering one of the few French ateliers specialised in lutherie, where every guitar is entirely carved by hand.

Every commission begins with an appointment: at our Paris showroom, or during a trunk show in Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York… Every detail is chosen together, through to delivery in person.

Four disciplines on a single instrument: lutherie, fine cabinetmaking, marquetry and ornamental sculpture, under the hand of Quentin De Leeuw, Maître Artisan d'Art (master craftsman of the French métiers d'art).
